Audrey Hartye

Business Development Coordinator

As a former educator, I have invested in my community everywhere I’ve lived. Through these experiences, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the impact that nonprofits have on the lives of children, families, and the community at large. As a teacher, I was so grateful for their help addressing issues of child hunger, homelessness, and access to an equal education. I have a special place in my heart for programs I have either coordinated or volunteered with that support developing youth and their families, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, TABLE, and Communities in Schools.

I have also had the opportunity to volunteer for AmeriCorps, which allowed me to see and support many nonprofits in action. I was inspired by the variety and depth of influence different organizations had in the community, which is what excites me most about the passionate work that Convergent does. It is an incredible opportunity to impact such an extensive network of people through our partnership with nonprofits.  I am honored to be a part of the Convergent team as we support nonprofits making their communities smarter, safer, and brighter.

Audrey has developed a wide scope of knowledge of public education, community outreach, and project management through her work as a public educator and program coordinator. This development has also been influenced by her extensive research and training in equity, inclusivity, and justice in education and the greater community.  She dedicated three years to curriculum enhancement and instruction on these topics and their relationship to historical social and economic patterns in North Carolina public schools.

A team leader, Audrey has led communication pathways for instructional teams and project management both as an outreach coordinator for AmeriCorps and as a lead teacher in East Chapel Hill. She also spearheaded technology improvements within communication, curriculum development, and performance analysis frameworks. Her ability to generate support, cooperation, and feedback from team members has saved her colleagues hundreds of hours across the institutions she has served.

Audrey’s commitment to public education and increasing children’s access to opportunity defines her motivation as a professional and active community member.  She develops genuine relationships with her colleagues and the people she serves. Audrey considers herself a lifelong learner and leader, which ensures that she will always bring enthusiasm and productivity to achieve desired outcomes and a positive team environment.  Her coordination and support elevates Convergent’s business development team, bringing a higher level of strategic value to every nonprofit we encounter.
