Dr. Jack Powell
Growing up in a modest, single parent home, I had few aspirations. I was mentored and encouraged by devoted teachers and coaches who took an interest in me. They fortified me to excel in school and athletics which led to an interest in attending college. As a first-generation college student, the challenges were many. I was again fortunate to have professors and coaches who helped me along the way.
I wanted the opportunity to make a difference for students just like people made a difference in my life. This led to a career working with college students helping them be successful in reaching their ambitions. An opportunity to raise funding for scholarships led me to realize the impact I could have connecting people who have a passion about making a difference with a cause they care about.
My second career in development and consulting gave me the opportunity to help advance the missions not only of educational institutions but others with impactful missions such as youth and arts organizations. Seeing results from my efforts and those of like-minded individuals have been fulfilling. To give back for what was given to me has become my career passion.
