“People believe in a wise investment.

That’s the message found in the wake of the successful fundraising campaign for the Sanford-Lee County Partnership for Prosperity, the new economic development organization formed with the merger of the Sanford Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lee County Economic Development Corporation.

The Partnership announced last week that it has raised a total of $1.25 million from some 40 individuals and organizations, well beyond what fundraising professionals thought was possible. These funds are from private donors, mind you – private meaning not from the government sector – who obviously believe strongly that this new and improved unified approach has the best chance to strengthening the economic condition of our area.”
