St. Charles County EDC

We are a catalyst fostering growth and success in St. Charles County and metro St. Louis.

The EDC was established in 1990 through the merger of the SBA lender Crossroads Development Corporation and the St. Charles County Industrial Development Authority (IDA), with a goal to provide a one-stop approach to encourage growth and development in the western part of the metro St. Louis area.  With St. Charles County's adoption of a charter form of government in the early 1990s, local governments joined forces with the EDC to expand its impact in the community.

We are a non-governmental, 501(c)(4) public-private partnership with an annual budget of approximately $2 million, with less than 10% coming from local government support.  

The EDC is governed by a 31-member volunteer board comprised of local government representatives, IDA members, and at-large members from the business and civic community.
